JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Jacksonville police cruiser flipped Thursday morning on Normandy Boulevard after it was hit by another car.
The officer inside, 19-year veteran Richard Futch, was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
According to police, Futch was heading east on Normandy Boulevard at Fouraker Road when a sedan turned left on a green light, but not a green arrow. The sedan hit the driver's side door of the cruiser, causing the cruiser to overturn.
Charges are pending against the sedan driver, who was not injured.
