Police are asking for information that could help solve Monday's murder of a 38-year-old man in his home on Powhatten Street.

On Friday the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office identified the victim as Tracey Garner, but did not release any additional information about the case.

Garner's sister spoke out Friday night, asking for the public's help to find her brother's killer.

"He would do everything he could for anyone he knew, or even if he didn't know you. He was very persistent with his music career and finally came to where he made it, and he was just a loving person that everybody love," said Renita Garner.

Officers were called to a shooting at the home just after noon Monday. Police said the killing may have happened earlier in the day.

One person was questioned and detectives said they want to speak with more witnesses, but there were no arrests.

"I've been taught not to hate, so I won't say I hate that person in that way, but I hate that they took away my best friend from me," said Garner.

Anyone with any information about the killing is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous and be eligible for up to a reward of up to $3,000.
