Police identify man, 32, shot, killed on Southside

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 32-year-old man was shot and killed late Friday night at the Mathews Crossing Apartments on Atlantic Boulevard, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Officers were dispatched to the complex at 8090 Atlantic Blvd. just before midnight Friday in reference to gunshots.

When they arrived, the found the victim, later identified as 32-year-old Torrence Leonard Thomas, in the parking lot. He was dead and had been shot.

Police have not released any suspect information.
