Woman's child approached by man in red pickup truck, says JSO

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police are investigating a reported abduction attempt that occurred Tuesday morning at a bus stop at Merrill Road and Hartsfield Road.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said a woman's child complained about being approached by a white man in a red pickup truck.

The child described the suspicious man as wearing a blue T-shirt, white pants and had a gray mustache, police said.

An immediate search of the area was performed including the use of JSO's Air Unit, but authorities said the search revealed nobody fitting the child's description.

JSO said it is working to verify the information and conducting follow-up on all potential leads, including information from the public on the identity of the suspect.
