Deputies said they found Christopher Depriest, 29, who had been shot twice inside the house.

Officials learned the woman involved in the domestic disturbance called a relative, who lived nearby, for help after she said she was a victim of domestic violence.

When Philip Orlando, 59, arrived to the home, a fight broke out, leading to Orlando firing his gun, striking Depriest twice.

Orlando told deputies prior to the shooting Depriest was assaulting him.

Deputies said Depriest was treated at the scene for his injury and was then airlifted to UF Health Jacksonville, where he is in stable condition following surgery.
