Police: Possible abduction not a crime

Missing woman found safe, interviewed

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police are no longer investigating what was thought to be an abduction Sunday morning after finding the missing person safe and determining no crime took place.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to the intersection of 11th Street and Fairfax Street about 5:30 a.m. Sunday. They said the mother of 27-year-old Kenya Mitchell told them Mitchell called to say she was going to be home in a few minutes, but never came. Police also said an anonymous caller reported seeing Mitchell being dragged into the woods.
