Police: Suspect threw incendiary device into home

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Arson charges are expected after someone threw an incendiary device into a home in Northwest Jacksonville on Sunday night.

The home in the 6000 block of Zinnia Avenue was occupied by two people, ages 83 and 55.

One of them heard a window break and found a bed on fire, according to a police report.

Neither person was hurt.

A neighbor gave police a description of a person spotted in the rear of the house, and that person was taken into custody a few blocks away, according to the report.

The occupants of the fire-damaged home told police they've had issues with the suspect.
