Checkbook thief
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Police in Jacksonville are trying to identify a woman who stole another woman's checkbook last month.

Officers said the 73-year-old victim was in Sam's Club at 10690 Beach Blvd. on the Southside just before 1 p.m. Jan. 23.

They said she turned her back away from her shopping cart, with her purse in the front section of the cart.

Police said a woman walked over to the victim's shopping cart and took her checkbook out of her purse. The thief then left the store.

Anyone who has any information on the woman's identity or whereabouts is asked to call the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office at 904-630-0500 or Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
