The 19,000-square-foot store features Goodwill's new store layout, which looks less like a typical thrift store and more like a traditional department store.

Goodwill calls it, "not your grandmother's thrift store."

Officials said the impact will go beyond their shoppers.

"We're also very excited because we know this is going to increase sales," Tracy Collins said. "And our slogan is Donate. Shop. Jobs. When you shop at Goodwill, 89 cents of every dollar goes to our missing of helping people find employment."

The store also has a boutique-style center area called "Treasure Island," featuring jewelry and accessories.

The new Goodwill store is on San Jose Boulevard, between Mandarin Road and Loretto Road.
