Ritz-Carlton exec. chef Thomas Tolxdorf killed in crash

NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. – The executive chef at the Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island was killed in a single-car crash Saturday in Nassau County.

The crash report from Highway Patrol says Thomas Tolxdorf, 49, of Fernandina Beach, was driving an Audi north on US-17 just north of 95 when he lost control hit a pine tree near a weigh station.

Troopers say Tolxdorf was not wearing a seat belt.

Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island released this statement:
