"It's just senseless and I find it a ridiculous thing for our neighborhood, and that's not how we live around here," said resident Richard Carter.

He said vandalism has always been around, but he's never seen anything like this.

One message sprayed on the church doors said, "Worship the Devil."

The new Bella Vita Pizzeria was also vandalized. Luckily, the owner, Stan Radcliffe, was able to scrape most of the graffiti off the window before opening for business.

"They had $5.99 wrote on the window, you can see," Radcliffe said. "See as I have my whole life savings invested, somebody needs to do something about this because it's just going to get worse."

Radcliffe said he's noticed an increase in crime and is pushing for more patrols in the area.

"It's going to (hurt business) if this continues on," he said. "People are going to be afraid to come to Murray Hill."

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is currently investigating the incidents. Anyone with any information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
