School bus rear-ended on I-95; no injuries

Lanes blocked on I-95 northbound at J. Turner Butler Boulevard

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – No one was injured in a school bus crash that blocked lanes of I-95 northbound at J. Turner Butler Boulevard this morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Just before 8 a.m Thursday, a school bus carrying one student to A. Phillip Randolph Academy was rear-ended. According to Duval County Public Schools, neither the student nor driver were injured.

The FHP said the driver of the car that struck the bus was shaken up but was not hospitalized. Names of those involved and other details were expected to be released later in the day.

The vehicles were moved to the center emergency lane, and lanes were reopened. A second school bus arrived just before 9 a.m. to transport the student on to school.
