Police say a security guard shot a knife-wielding man inside a Little Havana supermarket.
The shooting happened around 10 p.m. Wednesday after the man walked into the Presidente Supermarket and made death threats to various shoppers.
Miami police say the store's security guard saw the man arguing with a woman and attempted to break it up. The man turned and hit the guard on the head. The guard fired at the man, striking him several times.
The man was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital in critical condition. The guard was treated for head injuries.
Police say they don't know why the man made threats inside the store. They haven't released the names of the man or the security guard. No further details were immediately available.
