Patron shoots, kills Orlando sports bar owner

Orange County deputies search for shooter

ORLANDO, Fla. – A patron shot and killed an Orlando sports bar owner Friday morning during a verbal confrontation inside the bar, according to deputies, who continue to search for the shooter.

The shooting occurred around 5:30 a.m. at J&J Sports Bar on Goldenrod Road.  The name of the owner, described only as a man in his 50s, has not been released.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office told WKMG-TV the bar owner got into an argument with another man who shot the owner multiple times.

The bar owner was taken to Florida Hospital East and later died.

Deputies said the shooter fled the scene in a red Nissan Cube and has not been located.  He was described as a 25-year-old man, about 6 feet 2 inches tall and 300 pounds.

A sex trafficking case was investigated at the bar in May, but deputies said there's no known link between that incident and the shooting.

Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.
