Officers said two cars were sitting side-by-side at a red light on Blanding when someone in a car, possibly a tan Nissan, pulled a handgun and fired "quite a few rounds" into the second car.

The victims' vehicle continued north on Blanding, striking another car before coming to a rest. The suspect vehicle turned east on San Juan and left the scene. Police are still looking for that car.

According to police, the victims did not know the shooter and had no idea why someone was shooting at them.

A Chanel 4 viewer said he heard seven or eight shots as he got out of his car about a block away, but didn't see anything suspicious.

The case remains under investigation. The intersection was closed in all directions for more than two hours.

Anyone who witnessed the shooting or has any information about the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
