JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

A standoff between an armed man and the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office ended peacefully early Sunday morning in Arlington, according to JSO.

Officers responded to Paine Avenue, which is near Cesery Blvd. and Terry Parker Dr., shortly after 10 p.m. on Saturday in reference to a domestic dispute.

Upon arriving, they confronted a man armed with a handgun in the front yard, police said.

Officers talked with the man for a couple hours before he put the gun down and was taken into custody.

JSO is investigating and will decide if the man should face criminal charges.

No one was hurt in the incident and no shots were fired.
