State Fire Marshal investigates house fire

4 people escaped home; no injuries reported

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of a fire that destroyed a Jacksonville home Wednesday morning.

Around 5:45 a.m., Jacksonville Fire-Rescue crews were dispatched to a home on 1154 Glencarin St. near Interstate 95 in the Moncrief area, Wednesday morning in reference to a fire.

When fire crews arrived, heavy smoke and flames appeared to be coming from a rear bedroom, according to JFRD.

Firefighters were able to quickly put out the fire.

Four people were able to get out of the home and are getting assistance from the Red Cross. No injuries were reported, according to JFRD.

JFRD said the home was not a total loss and have called in the State Fire Marshal to investigate the cause of the fire.
