MIAMI, Fla. -

Researchers and students have come together to test a RoboCop prototype that is designed to help disabled police and military personnel.

Florida International University Discovery Lab's researchers along with FIU students developed the TeleBot.  It's to allow police and military personnel serve as patrol officers despite having a disability.

The TeleBot is a combination of telepresence and robotics.

From a remote location a person can control the prototype remotely.

The disabled military personnel or officer can interact with the public through the TeleBot.  The TeleBot lets them see what it sees.

Researchers and students are going to test the TeleBot Wednesday.
