Jerrell Whitlock

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. -

A man wanted in connection with an assault on a Pittsburgh Steelers player may be in Columbia County, according to investigators.

Jerrell Remero Whitlock, 26, is from the Hazelwood neighborhood of Pittsburgh.

Whitlock is wanted in connection with an assault on Mike Adams, offensive tackle for the Steelers.  Adams was the victim of a carjacking and was reportedly stabbed twice in the stomach by Whitlock, according to the Columbia County Sheriff's Office.

Whitlock is also wanted for violating the conditions of his probation/parole on a 2006 conviction for firearms not to be carried without a license.  The Pittsburgh Police Department, Pennsylvania State Police and several other jurisdictions have been searching for Whitlock for the past week.

Law enforcement officials believe Whitlock traveled to the Columbia County area.

Whitlock is considered to be armed and dangerous.  If you see him, do not approach him, but call 911 immediately.
