Suspicious bag on bridge snarls traffic for hours

A suspicious bag on the Acosta Bridge shut down northbound traffic for nearly 3 hours Saturday evening.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

     A suspicious bag on the Acosta Bridge shut down northbound traffic for nearly 3 hours Saturday evening.

     The bridge was closed to pedestrian traffic as well.

     JSO responded to the bridge around 7:05 p.m.

     Police reopened all lanes of the bridge just before 10.

     At last check, the JSO bomb squad unit was still checking out the bag to make sure it is safe.
