A man convicted of killing two police officers four years ago was sentenced to death on Friday.
A Hillsborough County judge announced Friday that Dontae Morris should be sentenced to death for killing two Tampa police officers in 2010.
Jurors found Morris guilty last year of two counts of first-degree murder. That same panel later recommended unanimously that Morris should face the death penalty.
Morris killed David Curtis and Jeffrey Kocab during a traffic stop in June 2010.
Besides the police killings, Morris was previously convicted of an unrelated murder and is awaiting trial in two other murder cases.
After the sentencing, prosecutors said they plan to seek the death penalty against Morris in one of the other pending cases.
