LAKE CITY, Fla. – A 19-year-old Lake City man was stabbed at his home Friday morning, according to the Columbia County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said Jorge Arata was stabbed in his upper body with a knife about 8:20 a.m. in the 200 block of Southwest Santos Terrace.

Investigators said his girlfriend, 18-year-old Jailine Marie Cruz Gonzalez, was present at the home when the stabbing happened.
Statements were obtained at the scene about the nature of the injury and how it occurred, and the case is still being investigated, deputies said. No arrests have been made.
Arata was taken to UF Health in Gainesville in critical condition.
