The family of a local slain victim is again speaking out to draw attention to this still-unsolved crime.
On Tuesday, loved ones and friends gathered in near-freezing temperatures with signs at the Duval County Courthouse to remind everyone that her killer is still at large.
Amber Bass, 21, was shot and killed in July in the driveway of her Westside home as she returned home from a Fleming Island bar and grill. Bass' sister, Robin Lezcano, found her body in the driveway.
Now she's made it her mission to make sure her sister is never forgotten.
"I can't let my sister's voice not be heard -- least I can do," said Lezcano. "I don't want this to become a cold case file. Not going to let that happen."
Shortly after she was killed, police released a surveillance photo taken in Bass' neighborhood the night she was killed. It shows a car that investigators believe may be related to the crime.
"We know somebody knows something, and we just want them to come forward," said A.J. Jordan, of MAD DADS. "Please come forward. These families deserve closure, and we don't want these murderers walking around our city."
If you know anything that could help police, you're asked to call Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
