JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

The House Veterans Committee hosted a town hall meeting Tuesday night to answer the public's questions about issues with the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Committee members like Rep. Ander Crenshaw, R-Fla., Rep. Corrine Brown, D-Fla., and Rep. Jeff Miller, R-Fla., were there and addressed their roles with the VA.

They talked about issues with clinics and disability claims..

Local veterans were also on hand to share about their experiences and ask questions.

Officials said the meeting was much needed.

“Well I think a town hall meeting like this gives you a real clear look at how some of these federal programs impact individual people,” Crenshaw said. “And that's what I want to hear more of and I want (us to do a) better job at delivering the services like the VA to the people."
