PALATKA, Fla. -

A 21-year-old north Florida man is in serious condition after a train hit his pickup truck Wednesday afternoon in Bostwick, just north of Palatka.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, about 4:15 p.m., an Amtrak train hit the truck driven by Herbert Fridy III on tracks parallel to U.S. 17.

Troopers said the truck spun into the woods and Fridy was ejected from the vehicle.

Troopers say he wasn't wearing a seat belt.
