Uniformed man sought in RadioShack theft

ORANGE PARK, Fla. – Deputies in Clay County are trying to identify a man who was wearing a uniform and stole a Bluetooth headset from a RadioShack store Saturday afternoon.

Deputies said the man went into the store in the Orange Park Mall about 3 p.m. wearing a uniform jacket with an unknown-type badge and patches. The manager said that in casual conversation, the man told him he was a firefighter but did not say where he was employed.

While the store manager was helping another customer, the man concealed the $80 Bluetooth headset in his jacket and left the store.

The thief is described as a white man, 6 feet tall and bald. He appeared to be in his late 20s or early 30s. Deputies said he was also wearing Battle Dress Uniform pants and shiny boots. They said the uniform is not like any fire department uniform in the area.

Anyone who has any information regarding the man's identity or the theft is asked to call the Clay County Sheriff's Office at 904-264-6512.
