JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

A fire that nearly destroyed a vacant Northside home Tuesday afternoon has been deemed suspicious, according to Jacksonville Fire-Rescue.

Firefighters said a witness saw children fleeing from the area before the fire at the home in the 5600 block of Doeboy Street started just before 4:30 p.m.

Firefighters said they got the fire under control after nearly 20 minutes.

No injuries were reported.

The State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating.
