Brantley County deputy charged with battery

A Brantley County deputy was arrested Friday on a charge of misdemeanor battery in a dispute involving a family member, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Deputy Wade Bennett was arrested at the Ware County jail at 2 p.m. in connection with an altercation with a male relative, investigators said.

He was released Friday on $1,000 bond.
