Water taxis expected to run Friday for Jaguars game

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The water taxis are expected to be running Friday for the Jaguars' first preseason game if everything goes as planned.

Lakeshore Marine has received permits to operate the boats, and the Coast Guard inspection is set for Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Jacksonville Landing.

If the boats pass inspection, they will run Friday for the game.

The two water taxis purchased by the city in June have been sitting idle since their arrival.

The founder of Beaver Street Fisheries is buying them from the city, then plans to sell them to a new permanent operator.
