Gary W. Belson, an NRA instructor at the Range & Educational Training Center is enlisted to help.
First, Belson teaches Christine in the required certificate class.
Then it's on to the range to get some hands-on time handling a weapon.
First, Belson demonstrates.
Then it's Christine's turn to show her competency in handling and firing the gun safely.
Checking her accuracy and signing her first target.
Then it's on to the concealed weapons office at the Jacksonville Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
There you prove who you are and pay the $112 fee...
... fill out the online application ...
... and get fingerprinted.
A picture is taken for the permit, which should arrive within 90 days.
