Morning, noon, night, in the middle of the night: are you constantly hungry? Well a lack of food may not always be to blame.
Lack of sleep can cause you to feel hungry. This is because your body looks to food as a source of energy, especially foods which are high in calories and carbs.
Your hunger may actually be just thirst. Being dehydrated can cause you to feel sluggish, and just like with sleep, your body will look to food as fuel. Try drinking a glass of water, and waiting a few minutes before eating.
Being bored can cause your brain to search out things which will provide it with a rush of dopamine, which can often lead to eating. Try reading a book or listening to some music to ease the boredom.
Certain medications can make you feel hungry as well. If it’s a long-term treatment, talk to your doctor about other medications. But if it’s a short term program, once you stop the medications, your appetite should return to normal.
