VIDEO: Police respond to a battery call in the Sunbeam area that left a woman in the hospital. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says a woman was beaten at the Atlantic Self Storage off Shad Road.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla -

Two men are being questioned by police after a woman was found beaten near a storage facility in the Sunbeam area of the Southside.

It happened about 11:30 a.m. Sunday at the Atlantic Self Storage on Shad Road just off U.S. 1.

Witnesses told Channel 4 they were driving by and saw a woman laying in the middle of the road, badly beaten. They said they waited with her until rescue arrived.

The victim was taken to UF Health Jacksonville, but her name and condition were not released by Sunday night.

Jacksonville Sheriff's Office investigators said the incident happened on property of the storage business.  They didn't know if either the woman or the men work there, but believe the they knew each other.

"I don't know if there was a close relationship, but I believe they knew the victim," said Officer R.M. Glossman.
