Baby in car scene
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has cited a woman for leaving an infant inside a parked car at a Publix parking lot while she shopped inside.

It happened Tuesday at the Shoppes at Bartram Park on Old St. Augustine Road.

A witness said frantic shoppers called police, then went inside the store to have the woman paged.

Witnesses said the baby was inside the car for well over 15 minutes while temperatures outside were in the 80s.

Police did not identify the woman who was cited.

The infant is OK.
