Woman critical after hit-and-run at rest stop

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -

The Florida Highway Patrol is asking for the public's help in locating the driver who struck a woman at a St. Johns County rest area Monday evening, then drove away.

According to a FHP report, 44-year-old Alicia Cedillo, was struck by a vehicle in the northbound rest area on Interstate 95, south of Racetrack Road, around 6:30 p.m.

The crash took place in the tractor-trailer parking lot at the rest area.

Cedillo was taken to UF Health Jacksonville, where she is was critical condition from the injuries of the crash.

FHP said there were no witnesses to the crash and no vehicle description.

If anyone has any information concerning this crash please contact the Florida Highway Patrol.
