Woman dies in crash on I-75

Linda Myrick, 63, died from injuries

ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – A woman from Wauchula has died in a crash on Interstate 75 in Alachua County. 

Linda Myrick, 63, and McArthur Myrick, 69, were traveling northbound on I-75, just past the 406 mile marker.

Barbara Frampton, 51, of Lake City, was traveling behind them.

Frampton went off the road, overcorrected and lost control, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Frampton's vehicle struck the Myricks' 2005 Titan, causing it to overturn.

Linda Myrick was thrown from the car and died from her injuries. She was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the FHP report.

McArthur Myrick was partially ejected and transported to UF Health in critical condition.

Frampton sustained minor injuries.  Charges are pending, according to the FHP report.
