A woman was shot multiple times in the upper torso Friday morning in Northwest Jacksonville, according to Jacksonville police.
Investigators said that the woman was shot on West First Street near Huron Street and was taken to UF Health Jacksonville with non-life-threatening injuries.
"We're still investigating the incident. Right now it is an unknown circumstance," Sgt J.M. Paris said. "We have our violent crime task force that's investigating and following up."
Paris said that right now, they are unsure how many shots were fired, but they are knocking on doors in the area to see if neighbors saw or heard anything.
