Woman wanted on check fraud charges

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Police in Jacksonville are looking for a woman who they said broke into a car and stole a checkbook in April.

Police said the car burglary was reported April 21 at 1213 Stimson Street on the Westside.

They said Angelia Smith, 52, has since forged and uttered the victim's checks at numerous businesses in and around the Jacksonville area.

Anyone who has any information on Smith's whereabouts is asked to call the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office at 904-630-0500 or Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
