Young man caught in rip current at Huguenot Park

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says a young man was rescued Sunday evening after he got caught in a rip current at Huguenot Park.

Police say the 19-year-old struggled to make it back to shore, but his friends were able to pull him to safety.

The young man was checked over by medical crews once he was back on dry land.

His name was not released, but police say he was breathing and is expected to be just fine.
