VIDEO: Besides the rides, and the animals, and the fair food - there is another type of food at the Greater Jacksonville Fair. The Karo Sweet-Treats for Sweet Hearts contest took place there recently and we have the winner in house. Debra Crammond from Ponte Vedra Beach, who won for her Florentine cookies, is sharing her husband's winning recipe for chocolate peanut butter wow them bars.

Jeff Crammond from Ponte Vedra Beach won the blue ribbon from the Best Bite-Size Treat competition at the Greater Jacksonville Fair.

Karo Syrup “Sweet-Treats for Sweet-Hearts” Contest's Chocolate Peanut Butter Wow Them Bars

1 cup Karo Light Corn Syrup
1 cup sugar
1 cup creamy peanut butter
6 cups rice Krispie cereal
2 cups dark chocolate chips
1/4 cup chopped roasted peanuts

In a large glass bowl, combine the Karo light corn syrup and sugar. Cook in a microwave oven on high for 2 minutes. The mixture should come to a full boil. Remove and stir in the peanut butter and then the cereal.

Spread the mixture into a 9x13-inch pan that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Melt the chocolate chips in a medium size glass bowl in a microwave oven at 50 percent power for 1 to 2 minutes. Remove and stir until the chips are melted. Spread the chocolate mixture over the bars and sprinkle them with the chopped peanuts.

Yields: 2 dozen bars.
