JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Adventure Landing in Jacksonville Beach is making sure the "fun" stays in fundraising, during it's fifth annual Slide-A-Thon event.

Shipwreck Island Waterpark challenges registered visitors to "ride until you're tired," knowing that this year that 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the American Red Cross Volunteer Lifesaving Corps.

Registration is underway and the first 96 people to register and pay the $10 entry fee will participate in the non-stop slides down "The Undertow."

Contestants must be at least 18-years-old, and at least 42 inches tall.

The event begins Friday at 6 p.m. Contestants will receive a free daily water park admission to use during a return visit, and will be eligible to win a two-night vacation weekend plus Samsonite luggage, a surfboard from Aqua East Surf Shop or a family four-pack of water park season passes.

For more information, including the short registration form, go to www.adventurelanding.com.

You can also register at the park between 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. until on Friday.
