Blaine Gabbert walks off the field after a 41-3 loss to the Bears.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

The news just keeps getting worse for the injured Jacksonville Jaguars.

There have been reports that the Jaguars' second-year quarterback Blaine Gabbert has suffered a torn labrum in his non-throwing shoulder in Sunday's loss in Oakland.

The team confirmed Monday that Gabbert was getting an MRI on that left shoulder and the results were not given during head coach Mike Mularkey's news conference. Mularkey, however, said he was hopeful for a return by his starting quarterback.

"There is a good chance he will play this week," Mularkey said. "We’re thinking a lot of it will be up to Blaine to see how his shoulder feels."

If it is, in fact, a torn labrum, Gabbert's season will most likely be over, leaving just two quarterbacks on the roster: Chad Henne and John Parker Wilson, who is on the practice squad.
