A new poll shows Floridians love their baseball, and the New York Yankees are the most popular team in the Sunshine State.

The Yankees train in Tampa in the spring and were chosen by 20 percent of 1,988 Floridians in a recent Quinnipiac University poll as their favorite team. Eighteen percent named the Tampa Bay Rays, and 15 percent named the Miami Marlins as their favorite teams. The Boston Red Sox were named by 8 percent of those questioned, and 7 percent said the Atlanta Braves. All have their spring training sites in Florida.

Forty-six percent of Florida adults said they are "very interested" or "somewhat interested" in Major League Baseball.

Quinnipiac's survey taken between May 15-21 has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.2 percentage points.
