Bartram Trail rolls past Creekside, 47-12

Bears win big on emotional night

ST. JOHNS, Fla. – It was a different atmosphere Friday night as Bartram Trail hosted Creekside.

Bartram Trail wide receiver Aubrey Johnson is fighting for his life after he was critically injured in a car crash on Wednesday.

Both teams and the community showed their support for the injured player by wearing white to the game.

Creekside started the game off strong. In the Knights' opening drive, Myles Clark ran 55 yards for a touchdown. The extra point was no good. The Knights take the early lead 6-0.

Bartram answers back with PJ Blazejowski who pitches to Romello Bentley who goes 20 yards for the TD. The Bears take the lead 7-6.

In the second quarter, Blazejowski on the QB keeper takes it 58 yards for a touchdown, making it 19-6 Bartram Trail.

And the Bears keep rolling. Blazejowski throws to Romello Bentley who is brought down at the 1 yard line.

On the ensuing play from the 1, Ryan Magden takes it in for the touchdown.

Later, Keith Ivey goes 34 yards for another touchdown.

The Bears didn't have to punt the entire game as they roll to a 47-12 win.

"Creekside has a great program. This is what high school football is about. Two communities coming together and competing and I'm so proud of this community." said Bartram Trail head coach Darrell Sutherland.Â
