TALLAHASSEE -

Florida State, the number five national seed in this year's NCAA Tournament, is heading home early after a 6-5 loss to Alabama on Saturday.

The Seminoles trailed 6-0 entering the bottom of the 9th inning. Former Bolles Bulldog DJ Stewart delivered a 2 RBI single to cut the deficit to 6-5 with two outs. But the Noles' luck ran out with a fly out to centerfield with the tying run 90 feet from home plate.

Justin Kamplain pitched eight scoreless innings to lead the Crimson Tide.

Florida State finishes the season 43-17. The Noles managed just eight singles in their two tournament losses. This was Alabama's first win over Florida State in football, baseball or men's basketball since December 16, 1985.
