Jaguars rebuild continues in personnel department

David Caldwell makes his first public appearance as the general manager of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The rebuild of the Jaguars continues as General Manager David Caldwell hired four new people in the personnel department and promoted one.

Chris Polian, who worked with Caldwell in Atlanta, is the director of pro personnel. Polian brings 19 years of NFL scouting experience to the Jaguars including three seasons (2009-11) as vice president and general manager of the Indianapolis Colts.

Polian spent the 2012 season with Atlanta Falcons as executive scout. He first joined the Colts alongside his father, Bill Polian, in 1998 where he served as director of pro scouting for three seasons (1998-2000). He held the title of assistant director of football operations from 2001-03, was promoted to assistant general manager/football operations in 2004 and spent five seasons (2005-09) as vice president of football operations.

Andy Dengler was promoted as assistant director of player personnel after spending the last two seasons as director of college personnel.

Caldwell also hired Kyle O'Brien, Paul Roell and Mark Ellenz as college scouts.
