Jaguars release 7th-year guard Uche Nwaneri

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Jaguars have released seventh-year guard Uche Nwaneri, the team announced Tuesday.

Nwaneri played in 104 games with 92 starts for the Jaguars after being drafted in the fifth round of the 2007 draft.

Of his 92 starts, 16 were at left guard and 76 at right guard. He played in all 16 games in five of seven seasons and started all 16 games in three different seasons, including 2013.

Teams are permitted to enter into contract negotiations from March 8-11 with agents of players who will be unrestricted free agents at the end of the current league year. The 2014 league year and free agency period begins at 4 p.m. March 11.
