Jimmie Johnson wins at Michigan
When you have six Sprint Cup Championships to your name, you would think you have won everywhere on the NASCAR circuit, right?
Jimmie Johnson had started 25 races without a win at Michigan International Speedway, until he took the checkered flag at the Quicken Loans 400 Sunday afternoon.
It was Johnson's third victory in four races - and the fifth in a row for Chevrolet and Hendrick Motorsports. Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt Jr. also have won for Chevy and Hendrick during the streak that doesn't count Jamie McMurray's win for Chevy in the Sprint All-Star race last month.
Brad Keselowski finished third Sunday after two straight runner-up showings at Dover and Pocono. Paul Menard was fourth, followed by Kasey Kahne, Gordon and Earnhardt.
After the race, Johnson said winning on Father's Day made getting his first win at Michigan very special, "As a father, what an awesome day. It just tickles me deep and I'm so proud to be here. Happy Father's Day to everyone out there."
