GAINESVILLE -

Scottie Wilbekin scored a game-high 17 points as No. 10 Florida open SEC play with a 74-58 win over South Carolina.

But it was not all good news for Wilbekin and the Gators. The senior point guard sprained his right ankle late in the game, the same ankle he injured December 2nd against Connecticut. Trainers took Wilbekin to the locker room for further evaluation.

Florida jumped out to a 14-1 lead to start the game. South Carolina went more than 9 minutes without a basket.

The Gators extended their home win streak to 24 games, the third longest in the NCAA. Missouri saw its 26 game win streak at home come to an end with a 70-64 loss to Georgia on Wednesday night. Florida has not lost at home since March 4, 2012 against Kentucky.
