SAN ANTONIO -

Kawhi Leonard scored 22 points to go along with 10 rebounds as the Spurs won their fifth NBA Championship, beating the Miami Heat 104-87 to win the series in five games.

San Antonio trailed by 16 points midway through the first quarter, but the Spurs responded with a 37-13 run to take a commanding lead.

LeBron James led the Heat with 31 points and 10 rebounds as Miami failed to capture its third straight NBA title.

The 22-year-old Leonard became the youngest Finals MVP since Tim Duncan won it for the Spurs in 1999.

"Right now, it's just surreal to me," Leonard said. "I have a great group of guys behind me."
