Toby Gerhart returns to practice

Expects to play on Thursday against Bears

JACKSONVILLE – Just two days away from the Jaguars second preseason game, the team received some good news as Toby Gerhart returned to practice.

The Jags starting running back missed nearly two weeks with a hip flexor, including the Jags' preseason opener against the Buccaneers.

"It felt good to be out there," Gerhart said. "It's been awhile. Everything felt good and I'm excited."

Gerhart worked with the first-team offense and delivered with a big run on his first carry during 11-on-11 drills.

"I think I'm good to go," Gerhart said. "I got cleared yesterday with all the progression stuff and wanted to see how today went. Today went really well so I think we're all good to go."

Gus Bradley said Gerhart will likely play Thursday against the Bears but his reps could be limited.

"I'm anticipating, if I hear good reports, he's going to play," Bradley said. He's going to get in there and we're going to get him some reps. It might be four or five carries, something like that to get him going. But I've just got to wait and see what I find out on the latest report."
